SMCx / Andi at TCAF!

Are you ready for the biggest comic arts festival of the season? Come on over, Canada, and check out Sorry Mom Comix (and yours truly!) at the Toronto Comic Arts Fest! I’ll be at Table 247 in the main TCAF building (the Toronto Reference Library) in the Salon, nested with some awesome fellow queer n’ punk comic artists! Look out for my name (Andi Santagata, the long unpronounceable one), and come hear me read at the TCAF Queer Mixer at 7PM that Saturday night!

I’ll also be debuting Jedville, 2nd Edition at the Fest, so don’t forget to come pick up a copy!

Jedville, 2nd Ed. Debuts at TCAF in May!

jedville 2nd ed cover

Hey Toronto!! Not only will I see you guys at TCAF (Toronto Comic Arts Fest) this year, but I’ll also be debuting Jedville, 2nd Edition! The color-cover, twice-as-much-content Jedville makes its first public appearance on May 14th, has 24 pages of hand-bound goodness, and retails for $5 US / $7 CAD!

I’m honestly so excited about this, especially since I had such a great time putting together the first Jedville (and this one comes right at the head of an actual Jed comic, for reasons obvious) – someone stop me from exploding!!

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the books debuting at TCAF (including work from my art and comix heroes Lisa Hanawalt and Simon Hanselmann), and also don’t forget, attending TCAF is free (and a wonderful way to get literary the weekend of May 14th & 15th!)

Comix On Tour!

poster

Yours truly (Andi) is going on comic tour!! Come see, read, pick up, buy, and chat with me if you’re near LA, Chicago, Toronto, or Vancouver this spring!!

Broke LA: April 23rd, DTLA, Los Angeles, CA: This is gonna be a massive music, art, comedy, and everything in between festival, so get your beer on and bring your dog (because yes, they allow you to!)!

Chicago Zine FestApril 29th & 30th, Plumber’s Union Hall, 1340 W Washington Blvd, Chicago, IL: The zine fest proper is on the 30th, and admission is free – come check out my table! Also, I’ll be doing a Dramatic Reading ™ of American Spirits #1, complete with sound effects and bonus noises (as best as I can muster – it has been a while since I watched Police Academy), on the night of April 29th at 6:30 at Workshop Chicago (935 W Chestnut St Suite 530). Admission to that is FREE, too!

TCAF (Toronto Comic Arts Fest): May 14th & 15th, Toronto Reference Library (789 Yonge St.): TCAF lasts both days, and is a huge and illustrious (geddit?) convention in the heart of Toronto! I’ll be doing a live interview at the TCAF 2016 Queer Mixer the night of the 14th, at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre (12 Alexander St). Admission to both the mixer AND the convention is free!

VanCAF (Vancouver Comic Arts Fest): May 21st & 22nd, 181 Roundhouse Mews, Vancouver, BC: Hey there again, Canada! Pop in for another free-admission convention, check out some outstanding indie and small press comics, and visit my table!

I am incredibly excited to get on the road, and it’ll be my first time in Canada, so I’m double (triple?!) pumped!! Come out and support your local and faraway indie comics artists, writers, publishers, and illustrators, and spend a lovely afternoon reading and looking at art!
